Day 1 Arrival Delhi
You arrive at the Delhi airport and will be welcomed by our local representative. The first introduction with the hectic Indian capital is for many a visitor an ordeal. Delhi has 18 million inhabitants and is the second most populated city in the country (after Mumbai). It is a metropolis full of glaring contradictions: towering modern office buildings show that the Indian economy is doing well, but right next to the big buildings entire families live under a piece of tarp on the sidewalk. While the rich are busy with their cell phones and computers, many of the poor do not even have clean water or enough to eat.
Day 2 Delhi – Ranthambore
At the train station of Delhi you will board the Golden Temple train to Ranthambore. The train departs at 07:40 and arrives at 13:03. In the afternoon you are free to do as you wish.
Day 3 Ranthambore
Today you will do a jeep safari through the Ranthambore National Park two times. The first safari will take place in the early in the morning and the other in the late afternoon. This park is one of the best places in India to witness a tiger in the wild, although sightings are not guaranteed. The park lies at the foot of the Ranthambore fort and was once the hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur. Besides tigers the park also houses jackals, hyenas, leopards, sambar, bears, crocodiles and many species of birds.

It is world famous among bird watchers. You can see many cranes, kingfishers, herons, etc. Additionally, you will be able to see several species of deer and small game. At the end of the day you check in at your hotel, explore the the city for the remaining of the day and ride a riskja for your enjoyment.
Day 5 Bharatpur - Chambal
Before you go to Agra, you will go to Chambal, from where you can visit Sarus Crane nature. On the way, you could make a stop at the ancient Moghul City: Fatehpur Sikri. After arriving in Chambal you will go on a safari on a boat on the Chambal River at the end of the afternoon.
Day 6 Chambal / Sarus Crane nature

Although it is not an officially protected area, it is seen and treated as protected nature reserve since 1999, thanks to the exceptional diversity of flora and fauna. Large numbers of cranes can be found. Furthermore waterfowls, river dolphins, crocodiles and gavials, crocodiles can be found here and it is one of the best locations for watching the Indian Skimmer, a bird related to the stern.
Day 7 Chambal – Agra
In the morning you travel to Agra, the city where the Taj Mahal is situated. Arguably India's most famous building, it is a mausoleum; built by emperor Shah Jahan out of love for his wife Mumtaz after she died giving birth to her fifteenth child. It is entirely made of white marble, which is inlaid with countless gemstones. Between 1631 and 1653 more than 20,000 people participated in the construction of the monument. The Taj Mahal is one of the seven architectural wonders of the world and is seen as the pinnacle of Moghul architecture. The complex is surrounded by a beautiful garden, where families are happy to be photographed with their favorite building in the background. The best time to visit the Taj is at sunrise or sunset, when the walls turn a soft pink color with an orange glow. This evening you have the opportunity to see this extraordinary building at sunset.

Later, you can visit the Agra Fort from where you have a splendid view of the Taj Mahal. The 'Baby Taj' Itimad-ud-Daulah, a tomb for the father and mother of the wife of Emperor Jahangir is also very worthwhile. The Taj Mahal is somewhat based on this marble tomb.
Day 8 Agra – Jhansi – Khajuraho
Take the train to Jhansi (08:12 to 10:50) and travel from there in 5 hours to Khajuraho, one of the main attractions of India. This by jungle overgrown temple complex dating from the 10th century is famous for its explicit erotic sculptures. The quiet country setting is ideal for a bike ride along the various temple groups.
Day 9 Khajuraho – Bandhavgarh

This is the largest and according to many, the most beautiful temple with lots of exuberant sculptures and more than 200 images. The oldest and most well preserved temple is the Lakhsmana temple dedicated to Vishnu. In the eastern temples there are many Jain influences.
